WSQ Advanced Certificate in Security Supervision

The WSQ Advanced Certificate in Security Supervision is a competency based training programme targeted towards security supervisors that are deployed at various locations or events to perform supervisory roles. The respective modules would equip the learner with Supervisory skills to manage and facilitate the work of a team of Security Officers.

Full qualification requires the learner to complete 4 core and 3 elective modules.
(The completion of this qualification automatically qualifies the learner for the WSQ Diploma in Security Management.)

The programme comprises of 7 modules, incorporates the theoretical and practical aspects to supervise security operations in the workplace. At the end of each module, participants will be subjected to a summative assessment to test their competencies on the respective subjects taught. The assessments are based on role plays, oral questions and written assignments.

Upon completion of the individual modules, a WSQ Statement of Attainment for the respective module will be duly awarded by SSG. After successfully completing the required core and electives modules , you will be awarded a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Security Supervision and the related transcript by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Who should attend:

Security Supervisors, auxilliary police officers of the rank of Sergeant or Staff Sergeant or any person managing a team of security officers or any security officer managing one or more security officers.

Learning outcomes:

1. Be able to Supervise Security Officers (3 days – Core)
2. Be able to Assess and Address Security Risks (3 days – Core)
3. Be able to Perform Supervisory Duties Within Legal Framework (3 days – Core)  
4. Be able to Monitor and Review Security Operations (2 days – Elective) 
5. Be able to Perform Monitoring and Reporting Duties at Central Command Centre (2 days – Elective)
6. Be able to Perform Security Command Centre Activities at Client’s Premises (2 days – Elective)
7. Be able to Induct Security Personnel (2 days – Core)
8. Be able to Contribute to Management of Security Incidents (3 days – Elective)
9. Be able to Conduct Operation Briefing and Debriefing (2 days – Elective)

*Average teacher : student ratio for each module is 1 : 20.

Entry requirements:

  • Secondary 2 education, SPM or NTC 2 (must show certificates), or
  • Able to read, write and speak English at ESS WPLN Level 6, or
  • Completed WSQ Certificate in Security Operations (Need to complete only 6 modules instead of 7)

* Those who do not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to interview before acceptance.

Duration: Modular basis, flexible course schedule (learn when you can, at your own pace). May be able to complete within 6 months (subject to course schedule/availability).
